ADAM MURRAY BACK
5th December 2013 21:47

Monday 2 December 2013

Adam Murray confirmed to me this evening that he is back at Field Mill and back in the group of players training. He will probably need a week of fitness to improve his sharpness but he's feeling good.

Murray told me: "The club is all that matters", and he believes he can be a positive influence and help pull the group forward.

A statement on Worksop Town official's site (Tuesday 03 December 2013) confirms: "It has been confirmed by the club this morning that Adam Murray is being recalled by Mansfield Town, although under the terms of the loan deal this cannot happen before Friday morning. Worksop Town FC would like to thank Adam for all his efforts during his spell with us and wish Adam all the best for the future."

The 32-year-old is to be recalled officially on Friday, after completing 28 days at the Tigers (the minimum time span after which a player can be called back to his parent club).

Following a meeting between manager Paul Cox and Adam Murray on Monday morning, the midfielder has since taken part in two training sessions, linking up with the rest of the first team squad. He is in contention for a place in the line-up in Saturday’s eagerly awaited FA Cup tie at Oldham Athletic.

The duo are set to speak in more detail to the local media on Thursday when we will host our pre-match news conference.

The 32-year-old outcast assistant manager, whose Stags career looked to be over to the fans, is to be recalled officially on Friday, after completing 28 days at the Tigers, the minimum time span after which a player can be called back to his parent club.

Murray fell out with manager Paul Cox earlier this season and has since spent loan spells at Rainworth MW and then Worksop.

But, after six successive defeats saw Stags slide down the League Two table, fans were clamouring for the return of the midfield ace.

Following a meeting between manager Cox and Murray on Monday morning, the midfielder has since taken part in two training sessions, linking up with the rest of the first team squad.

He is in now firmly contention for a place in the line-up in Saturday’s eagerly awaited FA Cup tie at Oldham Athletic.

The duo are set to speak in more detail to the local media on Thursday when the club will host their weekly pre-match news conference.

Murray only started the first two games of the season before being dropped to the bench.
