The 40-year-old has left his post as assistant manager of Nuneaton Town, where he has helped guide the club to fifth in the Conference Premier division.

The ex-Solihull Moors boss played a key role as Paul Cox's number two in the 2011-12 Conference Premier season, when our team finished third in the league, and was defeated only five times throughout that campaign.

On returning to One Call Stadium, Micky told http://www.mansfieldtown.net: "I'm glad to be back. Mansfield is a fantastic club with a fantastic set of supporters and chairman, who has a long-term vision of success. I want to be a part of history at Mansfield Town and help take the club forward. I am coming here to enhance the coaching staff and to help the manager.

"I leave Nuneaton Town in fifth position in the Conference Premier, the highest ranked part-time club in English football, who have been defeated on only five occasions this season. I am pleased with my efforts at Nuneaton, they are an excellent club. But this is a new project for me and one which I am very much looking forward to."

Paul Cox told David Jackson on BBC Radio Nottingham, prior to the game against Morecambe:
In a nutshell, there was only me and Richard Cooper running the club, as full time members of the club. From stepping up from the Conference to the Football League, I've realised we can't do it just as a two. I'm trying to learn how other football league clubs do it, they get in good coaches to work on systems, players etc that the manager wants. Micky's forte is on the training ground with the players. It will free up some of my time to do other facets of my job. I can move away from just being a coach, to being more of a manager, managing players, managing people.

Micky Moore is expected to return to Mansfield Town as coach.

Stags Head of Media & Communications Mark Stevenson told Mansfield 103.2 Friday Night Football Forum that Moore has not yet officially rejoined the Stags.

Mark Stevenson said: "A deal not yet struck between Mansfield Town and Nuneaton Town, where Micky is currently the assistant manager. But no problems are anticipated."

Mark Stevenson expects a deal to be struck within the next 24 hours. Moore won't be coming in as assistant manager. He will be a coach, alongside Richard Cooper, to strengthen the coaching staff.
