Tranmere Rovers Reserves 3-0 Mansfield Town Reserves
Avon Insurance league cup By Andrew Stratton, icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk ALL the goals came in the second half at Rivacre Park last night as Tranmere Rovers Reserves gained a 3-0 victory over Mansfield Town Reserves in their second match in the Avon Insurance league cup. The three points puts Rovers level at the top of their group alongside Mans-field with one game left to play. Tranmere went ahead a minute after the break with Paul Brown netting at the far post, from a cross by Karl Dunbar. Trialist Andy Robinson made it two on 75 minutes with an excellent angled shot from the corner of the box. Rovers survived a penalty on 78 minutes after Ian Sharps brought down Danny Bacon, Bacon fired high and wide with the spot kick. Steven Jennings bagged Tranmere's third with a neat chip over keeper Jason White, seven minutes from time.
