LEVER COULD BE LEAVING TOO
19th December 2002 13:21

mansfieldtown.net report that central defenders Neil Moore and Mark Lever could be leaving Field Mill.

Moore has signed a loan contract to the end of the season with Southport.

Meanwhile Lever is in talks with Lincoln City today. Lever's Stags contract expires at the end of the season so will be looking to go on loan until this time.

Southport and Lincoln will be picking up the majority of the duo's wage bill. Curle stressed that these moves are not financially motivated but more for the players benefits: "At their age, if they get an opportunity to play professional football, then they should take it. The loan agreements are not based on finances but with the players interests at heart. I am very pleased with the defence we have and cannot see a place for them in the immediate
future and there is no point to them not playing if they can get a game elsewhere."

Curle told mansfieldtown.net that he would like to extend loanee Rhys Day's contract to the end of the season, and if Day carries on performing the way that he did last Saturday against Blackpool would like to obtain his
services on a permanent basis. "Rhys's contract with Man City runs out at the end of the season and they will not be renewing it so Kevin Keegan has told Rhys if he can get fixed up here then do it, and if finances allow and he carries on the way he is then I would like to keep on a permanenet Basis. we will have to wait and see"
