Marriott penned an extension to his current deal, which will see him stay at One Call Stadium for our upcoming League Two campaign, before Riley re-joined us from Wrexham later in the afternoon.

Our boss said: "They're two excellent signings and the squad is looking strong now.

"Riles is back and I'm over the moon. He's a player that I'm looking forward to squeezing an extra 20-30% out of next season. It's a fantastic signing for us, and it makes the competitions at centre-back very competative."

He added: "Maz, since I've been at the club, has been excellent and a different class both on and off the pitch."

Furthermore, Cox also stated during his weekly press meeting that he is looking to bring a young goalkeeper to the club in the coming weeks.

"We're looking at a number of young goalkeepers at the minute, but it's a strange position in terms that most Football League contracts don't end until the 30th of June.

"But I'm looking to bring in another keeper, who can add competition."

Meanwhile, our boss also confirmed that George Pilkington and Godfrey Poku have been made available for loan or transfer.

Defenders John Dempster and Ryan Tafazolli are also expected to sign new contracts with us, before our squad returns for pre-season training on 24 June.

In other news, we can reveal that we have sold 1,300 season tickets in anticipation of next season
