After putting pen to paper, he told mansfieldtown.net: “I have met with a few teams in the close season but as soon as I knew Mansfield were interested, and then having spoken to Paul (Cox), it was a ‘no brainer’ to sign. He laid out his plans to me and I want to be a part of it here. “I want to do well for the club. The team has just won the Conference National, which isn’t an easy league to win. So there are a good group of players here already and I think we could do well next season.” His contract will commence on 01 July 2013 ------------------- Black can’t wait to start mansfieldtown.net 23rd May 2013 New signing Paul Black says he is desperate to play for us in League Two next season. The 22-year-old came through the youth system at Boundary Park and played 70 first-team games for the Latics before being released in May. "He's a player we've had our eye on for a while," Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore told the club website. "There will be strong competition between him and Zoumana Bakayogo for the left-back spot." Moore continued: "He's quick, likes to get forward and is good on the ball. "He's still young but he's got plenty of experience and is a good addition to the squad." -------------------------- |
