Mansfield Town chairman John Radford today thanked the thousands of people who turned out on the streets of the town yesterday to see the Stags’ open top bus tour and salute their achievement as Blue Square Bet Premier League champions.

He said: “It was a great day - one I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

“To see people of all ages line the streets of Mansfield was a brilliant sight and I’d like to thank all those who turned out to applaud the players and management for their magnificent achievement this season.

“The sense of togetherness as we rode through the town was most encouraging. There were heart-warming chants and messages from those on the streets and the players and staff thoroughly appreciated the turnout.

“It was our opportunity to thank the people of the town for their support throughout a memorable campaign. They helped us over the finishing line.”

Mansfield Town basked in the glory of their BSBP championship success last weekend when they toured the town on an open top bus to show off the trophy to their supporters.

Around 5,000 fans lined the route of the two-hour journey too and from the One Call Stadium.

Chad has already published a slideshow of photographs of the day on this web site this week along with a spread on the big day in the newspaper.

Now you have a chance to relive the big day on video with this film put together by Anne Shelley.
