The Stags players, who have clubbed together to buy the gifts, will head to the children's ward on Thursday 13th December along with manager Paul Cox and his staff.

They will visit children and their families who will spend the festive season in hospital due to ill health.

Said Cox: “After speaking to people at the football club, we thought it would be a good gesture to raise funds for presents for local children who will unfortunately spend Christmas in hospital this year.

“The players have donated through their wages this month to pay for the gifts and I'd like to thank them for doing so”, he added.

Later that day, the players will attend the club's carol service at St Peter & Paul's Church, Church Warsop, from 7pm, where supporters are also welcome to join the gathering
