Notts Under 19's Stunned By Second Half Mansfield Comeback

Four second half goals from Mansfield gave the Stags U19's a convincing victory of the young Magpies.

Notts started brightly and caused Mansfield problems from the start.
After 5 minutes Shaun Harrod had the first attempt on goal after beating two defenders, he pulled his shot wide of the post.
Moments later the impressive Shaun Harrod shot over the bar 25 yards from goal.
At the other end Greg Smith did well to intercept a through ball.
Midway through the first half Kelvin Wilson was unlucky not to open the scoring after connecting well from a dangerous free-kick from Willis Francis.
Craig Appleby shot just wide of the post after 25 minutes as the Magpies continued to dominate.
Willis Francis then saw his shot fly past the Mansfield goal before, Mansfield nearly snatched a goal themselves when they struck the bar from 15 yards.
The young Magpies took a deserved lead moments before half time when Shaun Harrod held the ball superbly before playing in Craig Appleby down the right, the Notts number 9 then met the cross with a deft touch before poking the ball under the keeper to make it 1-0.

HALF TIME : 1 - 0

After a scrappy start to the second half Mansfield started to take control of the game.
After Notts failed to get hold of the game Mansfield equalised on the hour, as their winger volleyed in direct from a corner kick.
Minutes later Mansfield took the lead when their number 9 rose to meet another a set piece unchallenged to make it 1-2.
Leon Best had the best chance of the second half for Notts, when he broke through the defence but had his shot well blocked by the keeper.
Mansfield then added a third from another set piece. This time their number 10 rose to meet the cross to head home number three on 75 minutes.
Two minutes later the victory was complete as Mansfield swept home the fourth goal from a cross from the right hand side to make it 1-4.
The young Magpies had a couple of half chances late on as Leon Best had two efforts saved by the keeper.
