STAGS SETTLED BUT HAYES FACING WAIT
13th April 2011 20:19

Non-League Paper, 3 Apr 2011

by Sam Elliott

Mansfield Town have been given the green light to continue to play Conference football, but Hayes & Yeading are waiting on a groundshare agreement.

The Blue Square Bet Premier Stags have secured a mandatory one-year lease to remain at Field Mill, thus retaining their league membership.

There had been serious concerns that Mansfield could be forced to drop two disvisions to the Evo-Stick League with a bitter legal dispute between the club and former owner Keith Haslam, who wanted to repossess the club's home.

But Conference chairman Brian Lee confirmed: "The lease has been sorted and everything has been confirmed by solicitors. It happened just in time, but there is still a pending court case which could go on for quite a while - possibly even into next year."
