Watkiss looking to strengthen squad
-------------
mansfieldtown.net reports that the Stags have paid up the contract of Michael Bingham.
However Stags manager Stuart Watkiss believes that the money saved from the release of Bradley and Bingham would "still leave it difficult to find a player of sufficient standard."
Watkiss wishes Bingham all the best for the future. "Michael leaves with my best wishes. He's a great lad and a great character to have around the ground, if it was financially viable that we could keep more players then perhaps we may have kept Michael. He's a free agent now and I hope he gets himself fixed up."
Stuart Watkiss has also today told mansfieldtown.net that he is now looking to strengthen his squad.
"I'm looking to strengthen all round, though I'm particularly interested in bringing in another forward. I've had a chat with the chairman and he agrees that we have to strengthen so we will look at finances and see what we can do. I won't just bring in anyone to make up numbers, if we can get someone it will be the right person. I'd like to get something permanent particularly on the striker front, but again that's a matter of finances."
