A decision to appoint a successor to David Holdsworth on a permanent basis has been delayed through a number of unforeseen factors.

Discussions took place between chairman John Radford and landlord Keith Haslam today in an effort to resolve the dispute over Field Mill.

It has required Radford's full attention and distracted from the important task of an appointment.

Russell led his side to a 5-0 win against Worksop on Tuesday night in the FA Trophy, following a win and a draw in the Blue Square Premier.

Now he will take charge of tomorrow night's game at Crawley, against Steve Evans' second-placed side.
