Andy posted this on the Stagsnet messageboard. It was a hugely appreciated post:

Please find below a letter that will be released to the press tomorrow.
I feel that I need to publish this FIRST on this website as a further thank you to all the fans that helped and supported the club yesterday.

AMAZING SUPPORTERS
On behalf of the Directors, Manager, Players, backroom staff, and in particular the 2500 fans who were able to watch football at Filed Mill on Saturday, I am writing to publicly acknowledge and thank the 90 or so supporters who responded to our appeal for volunteers to help clear the pitch. We had young people aged from around 5/6 upwards to senior citizens, and every age group in between at the ground working tirelessly from 8am until 1.30pm to clear the pitch of snow and enable us to get the game to go ahead. Our backroom team supplied them with tea or coffee and bacon butties mid morning and then again we arranged a simple pie and pea lunch once the pitch was cleared. It was a great community effort and goes to show that our fans are amazing. Things are starting to get better on the pitch with 4 wins and a draw in our last 5 matches. Off the pitch changes are starting to have an effect. All in all we are making progress in returning MTFC to the kind of community based Club we all want to see. To the 90 or so that helped on Saturday, our very special thanks.
Andrew Perry,Chairman, MTFC
