Stags fan Matt Genever has died at the age of 30. Matt was perhaps most widely known for his fantastic commentaries on Mansfield 103.2. He was a truly lovely man and will be terribly missed. RIP Matt.

Mansfield 103.2 In Mourning
Full story here

Former Sports Editor and journalist at Mansfield 103.2, Matt Genever, has died at the age of 30.

He had been bravely battling against cancer for a number of years but finally lost that fight at St Bart's Hospital earlier today surrounded by his family.

Managing Director Tony Delahunty leads our tributes to one of the finest to work on the station:

"He'd had several operations and he'd fought it very, very hard indeed.

"He was a great battler, he was a boy with a great sense of humour, a great love of Mansfield Town - his shirt was on most of the time when he wasn't working - and he came from a lovely family and my thoughts go out to them.

"He was Mansfield through-and-through and was one of the hardest workers I've ever known.

"He will be sadly missed and it was a great pleasure to work with him for a number of years."
