A mixture of seniors, youth and trialists made the short trip to Field Mill as Medinilla and Ghaichem continued their trials with the club. The home side were two goals ahead when Rooney hit the back of the net. The first half was a goal-less affair but the second half exploded into life when the home side scored with a 30 yard volley from Kaye. Five minutes later it was 2-0 as Robinson lifted the ball over the defence and slotted past Towns, who had been having a good game. Francis Green was fouled wide on the left and Rooney showed great quickness of thought to curl a free kick into the top corner to catch the 'keeper off guard. The Silkmen pressed for an equaliser but couldn't find a way in.
