LIAM COULD BE FIT FOR PLAY-OFFS
5th April 2002 12:46

Liam Lawrence could be back in the first-team this season if Stags end up taking part in the play-offs after breaking his arm in a car crash.
The youngster has been missing since the accident on Saturday 16 February.
Mansfield have never adequately balanced the side on the right of midfield in his absence and have failed to win seven of their subsequent 10 games.
However, the bones are knitting well and he said: "I saw the specialist a couple of weeks ago and it's going better than expected.
"It should heal stronger than it was and I could be involved again if we are in the play-offs which is great news - I am chuffed to bits.
"It has really gutted me to miss out knowing we were in such a good position.
"We are desperate to win a game right now and I wish I could be out there to do something about it.
"I am always on the edge of my seat in the stand and I think I am turning into a coach!"
Manager Stuart Watkiss added: "Liam is back with the first-team training now and he is running and joining in on the ball though he is not allowed any contact just yet.
"He could be back with us if we have to go into the play-offs which would be good news as we have definitely missed him."
