Brewers swoop for defender Buxton
BBB=C.co.uk, 28Jul2008 Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough has agreed a deal to sign former Mansfield Town captain Jake Buxton. The 23-year-old centre-half featured in the Brewers' 1-0 pre-season friendly win against Walsall on Sunday and is available on a free transfer. Buxton, who will put pen to paper next Friday, left the Stags in the summer after their relegation from League Two. He had hoped to stay in the Football League but a trial spell with Crewe Alexandra proved unsuccessful. On Saturday, Michael Simpson scored the goal for a strong Brewers side which included new striker Greg Pearson. |
