Mansfield right-back Johnny Mullins could be joining County

According to reports, Mansfield Town's highly-rated defender, Johnny Mullins, is set to join Stockport after rejecting the Stag's contract offer. Mullins' contract runs out this summer and, despite being offered improved terms, looks set to leave Field Mill.

This is Mansfield Town have reported that Mullins visited Edgeley Park during the week for contract talks. Darlington are said to be interested in the 22 year old as well as the Hatters, but the prospect of League One football may clinch the deal. Mansfield were relegated to the Blue Square Premier from League Two this season and have very few players under contract

As the player is under 24, Mansfield would be due compensation for Mullins and the fee would be likely to be set by an independent tribunal.

Striker Louis seals Wrexham move

Relegated Wrexham have signed much-travelled striker Jefferson Louis.

Non-league Wrexham is the Dominica international's 18th club in eight years, after the 29-year-old forward was released by Mansfield Town.

He is Dragons boss Brian Little's third free transfer signing this summer, following Simon Brown from Mansfield and Paul Carden from Accrington.

Louis spent six months in prison in 2002 after being convicted of dangerous driving while disqualified.
