Glapwell's Hall Corner ground will be the venue for a huge charity match Bank holiday weekend. A Scott Sellars Legends XI will take on a Jamie Walker Select XI on Sunday the 4th of May, kick-off 3pm. All money raised will go to the lymphoma research and Haemotology Department at King's Mill Hospital in Mansfield who helped Jamie beat cancer when he was struck down with Hodgkins Lymphoma 2 years ago. Legendary players that will be taking part include Peter Beardsley, Steve Ogrizovic, Nigel Clough, Kerry Dixon, Andy Beasley, Simon Coleman, Ernie Moss, Bobby McDonald, Andy Kowalski, Danny Wilson, Ian Woan and John Beresford The fun starts at 1pm with a pre-match seven-a-side tournament that will include Mansfield Police, colleges and Mansfield 2020 businesses. Before kick off there will be a balloon race. Prices are £3 for adults and £1 for seniors and children. £38,000 has already been raised with charity games at Belper Town FC and most recently Glapwell FC last summer and two sportman's dinners, so please come along and help what is a marvellous cause. |
