DEARDEN, CONLON AND BAPTISTE REACTION

The important thing was to win the football game. I thought the boys were very professional.

They looked a wee bit tired in the second half, took their foot off the gas which enabled Mansfield to create a bit more but to be fair it was very comfortable.

We came out of the traps very well. In the first 20 minutes Blair and Barry Corr were exceptional at holding the ball up and running off each other and linking the team up.

In the end people will be disappointed that things have not been tied up but we can't legislate for the results elsewhere.

Barry has put us ahead and his presence has helped pressure a second but we should have put the game beyond any doubt in the first half hour.

Then the nervous tension of the day definitely took command and I probably made a wee mistake not taking Barry off and leaving Blair on because I think Blair had a bit more in the tank.

The height factor at set pieces was worrying us and I didn't want to lose what Barry gave us in that sense.

On the mathematics

We've added another goal to the goal difference (Town are seven goals better off than MK Dons) so we have benefited. It would be nice to just mirror image them from now.

On the injuries

Lee Peacock hasn't trained for three weeks and we all know about Barry (Corr).

I think he's going to have to train a bit this week and we'll get him in the water so he can have a bit of a blow. We'll get him running in there and take some pressure off his back.

That's two not training regularly. I've got to make a huge decision, do I ever change this team?

I think people will say that's what I get paid for.

On the Rovers game

It's going to be a difficult game at Rovers.

They look a very good side and can get on top of teams.

We've got to be very thoughtful in our approach and make sure we're strong in all departments and really work the ball.

There's a reserve game (today, against Bristol Rovers) where everyone who didn't play against Mansfield will play.

We'll have a solid week and go hoping we can finish it off. We'd like to do our business next week.
