Stags fans continue support for Haslam Out. Stags Fans For Change (SFFC), the newly formed protest group that wants Mansfield Town Football Club owner Keith Haslam, to actively seek out interested parties and sell the Club so that the Club can move forward, found even more support for its campaign among fans at the Chester game last Saturday. SFFC is conducting a survey among Stags fans to find out how they feel about Keith Haslam and his running of the Club. SFFC members were in attendance at the Chester game asking fans for their opinions on Keith Haslam and if they would support a one-match boycott of a home game to express their anger at Mr Haslam. Signatures for the survey were also gathered at the home game with Walsall when the majority of responses were gathered. Fans were asked: Would you like Keith Haslam totally out of MTFC ASAP? To date they have given the following responses: Yes 744 - 95% No 2 Don't know 1 The SFFC estimate that 40 people approached refused to give an answer (accounting for the remaining 5%) Would you support a boycott? Yes 394 - 50% No 353 - 45% An SFFC spokesman said "With an estimated 2,600 fans attending home games the results so far give us nearly 30% of the fan base that want Mr Haslam to sell the Club. Mr Haslam keeps claiming we are a small minority – clearly this is not the case. We will be at the Torquay and Shrewsbury games outside of Field Mill collecting further signatures. We want to hear from all stags fans so they can tell Mr Haslam exactly what they want from the Club's owner." SFFC is calling on Stags fans who may be staying away from Field Mill to come down to the ground and sign the petition so that Mr Haslam will also know the full number of fans that could be supporting the Club but will not whilst he remains owner. The survey results will be presented to new Chairman Mr Derry later this month. SFFC is quite dismayed at the recent treatment of freelance journalist and long-term Stags fan Dan Westwell both at Field Mill when he was effected and subsequently at the Chester game but feels it inappropriate at this stage to comment further with a pending court case. |
