YOUTHFUL RESERVES DRAW WITH RETFORD

03 Jan 2007 report for Stagsnet by John Street Stags sent a reserve/youth side to Retford Utd last night and fought out a sound 1-1 draw. The home side who had fell foul of the weather over Christmas and New Year similar to the Stags, fielded a strong side, against the Stags who fielded mainly a Youth Team but included Asa Charlton, Wood, Sleath, Mcintosh, Rory Boulding and Lloyd, who captained the side for Manager Dave Jervis. Buoyed on with a strong wind in the first half the Stags had the better of the chances but couldn't get their noses in front, the home side did however after the break only to be pegged back by the Stags who deserved their equaliser by Rory Boulding. Good strong performance by the Stags who looked to play any football that could be done on a heavy pitch and at times in driving rain. Well Done Stags |
