NO COMPLAINTS FROM PETER AFTER CUP EXIT

Manager Sean O'Driscoll was keeping his feet firmly on the ground after Doncaster beat Mansfield at a canter to earn a third round tie at home to Premiership Bolton.

He said: "The Bolton tie is something for the fans and players to look forward to early in the new year but there are a lot of games to play before then so we won't be getting excited just yet.

"I thought we were very professional and workman-like rather than spectacular.

"The pitch was the worst I've seen it for some time and there were a lot of tired legs at the finish.

"But the attitude and commitment were first class.

"We've got one or two injuries and the only game I'm thinking about at the moment is Yeovil in the league on Saturday and which players are going to be fit."

Mansfield boss Peter Shirtliff said: "One or two of the players are down and a bit self-critical in the dressing room but I can't fault them for effort.

"Doncaster were the better side and there's no doubt about it. We didn't create enough and our finishing was poor.

"Doncaster controlled the game better than they did in the first game at our place but I thought we acquitted ourselves well.

"They didn't have an easy night and we pushed them all the way."
