SEASON TICKETS BOOST
Evening Post, 06 September 2006
Mansfield are on course for their highest season ticket sales figure since the promotion season of 2001-2002.

The Stags have so far sold 1,458 tickets with a steady trickle still being purchased despite three home games already having been played.

It comfortably beats the combined season ticket and half-season ticket sales of 1,318 from 2005-2006.

And club officials believe the final figure could be close to the 1,700 achieved when Mansfield finished third in the old Division Three.

"I think the interest in season tickets is a reflection of people's optimism for this Mansfield squad and they can see the potential that they have," said spokesman Rob Ferguson.

"People have also been excited by some of the signings Peter Shirtliff has made with the likes of Matt Hamshaw, Johnny Mullins, Michael Boulding and Carl Muggleton.

"At the moment we are on course for our best season ticket sales figure in five years of football with the half-season tickets still to come at Christmas."
