Reserves in action as Shirtliff contemplates changes
CHAD website, 04 September 2006

MANSFIELD Town's fringe players will be hoping to put themselves into contention for next weekend when they take on Conference North neighbours Alfreton Town in a reserve friendly at the Impact Arena tomorrow night (Tuesday, 7.45pm).
After going four league games without a win and losing two on the trot, despite decent performances, Stags manager Peter Shirtliff has admitted he is considering making a couple of changes for Saturday's visit of Hereford United.
Left back Gareth Jelleyman is already a doubt after picking up a knee injury in Friday's1-0 defeat at Wycombe. And, although centre half Jon Hjelde is back running, he faces a fitness test on his groin later in the week.
"I do have options, though," said Shirtliff. "Giles Coke is fit again and I though Callum Lloyd did okay when he came on.
"I also have players like Danny Reet and Chris Beardsley waiting for their chance. Chris is looking very sharp and hungry.
"We have a busy time ahead with playing Saturday, Tuesday for the next three weeks. And if I have to use my whole squad to get a good points return then so be it."
Admission at Alfreton is £2 adults and £1 concessions.
