27 July 2006 Stagsnet report Stags visited Retford last night and the starting 11 included names we know and and contained trialists along with Rory Boulding one of the Stags most recent signings. The first half was a good solid performance and Beardsleys strike was just reward for there display, Kendricks looked solid at left back, while Sleath and Lloyd caused Retford problems with some intracate openeings forged for Reet and Beardsley. Stags never really looked troubled at the back with Buxton containing any early arieal threat. Half-Time 1 - 0 The second half was a different story as players were removed and 1st year trainees from the Youth Team were introduced, and the Badgers took control and ran in 3 second half goals. Well done Retford but Stags dont panic - 1st half you were superb! Bucko (Solid) , Lloyd (Assured) and Beardo (Getting Sharper) and looked good!
