NEWS ON 6 TRIALISTS
mansfieldtown.net, 11 July 2002 Stags currently have six players trying out for the pre-season, all the players are well thought of in the game and come from good clubs. If any or all of these players suitably impress Watkiss they could find themselves wearing the Stags kit next season. Also Watkiss is quick to point out that he is in talks with a number of players and their agents and there could be news of a new signing as early as next week: "We have to wait and see" said Watkiss today. Currently on Trial we have: Phil Trainer - Crewe Alexandra Gary Sampson - Manchester United Bobby Howe - Nott'm Forest / Swindon Town Leon Ryan - Middlesboro' Kevin Street - Crewe Alexandra Michael Moore - Hamilton Academical Stuart Watkiss added: "Chris Greenacre was with us for two and half years in which time his game improved and he scored a lot of goals. Finding a suitable replacement will not be an easy job". "As I have said before there are a lot of players looking for clubs and I could probably sign them tomorrow, but I am not going to sign any old Tom, Dick or Harry just for the sake of Signing, They will have to fit in with the rest of the team and the way we play football" He added. |
