IT`S MILLWALL AGAIN IN CARLING CUP
26th September 2005 20:46

CARLING CUP ROUND 3:

Mansfield will play Millwall at home. It will be the Stags eighth consecutive League Cup game at Field Mill, following the wins over Stoke and Southampton this season, and defeats in previous seasons against Preston, Sunderland, Derby, Notts County and Southampton. The Stags last League Cup game away from Field Mill was the first leg defeat in September 2000 against Southampton.

The last time the Stags reached the third round, we also played Millwall at Field Mill, and lost 2-0 on October 25 1994. This followed knocking out Leeds United.

Home again as Stags land Millwall
MANSFIELD Town are celebrating an amazing eighth successive home draw in the Carling Cup after landing Championship strugglers Millwall at home.
To be confirmed, the game looks set to take place at Field Mill on Tuesday, 25th October.
Curiously Millwall were the opponents at the Mill the last time Stags reached this stage 11 years ago when the visitors won 2-0. That followed a glorious two-leg win over the then top-flight Leeds United.
Already this season Mansfield have knocked out Championship sides Stoke City and Southampton.
