TRANSFER DEADLINE PASSES WITH NO STRIKER SIGNING

No joy for Stags before deadline CHAD website, 31 August 2005 MANSFIELD Town did not manage to bring in a new striker before today's transfer window deadline. Matthew Tipton's shock departure last week and a broken leg for Chris Beardsley have left the Stags short in that department. Manager Carlton Palmer did have a player lined up this morning but said: "Someone came in and bid more money so all we can do is leave it for now. "At least we can still bring a striker in on loan and we will be looking at that next week. "But it has to be someone we want. We won't bring players in for the sake of it." |
