Mansfield chairman Keith Haslam has given manager Carlton Palmer a pat on the back now the curtain has come down on a traumatic season. Palmer was appointed successor to Keith Curle in November, initially on an unpaid and temporary basis. Curle later left the club in acrimonious circumstances, with former Stockport boss Palmer landing the job on a permanent basis. And Haslam, who has high hopes of mounting a promotion challenge in 2005-6, said: "Carlton is an integral part of what we're trying to achieve here. "He arrived here during what was a very difficult situation and we're very grateful for his help. "Carlton's got experience and he's seen us through a difficult period." |
