STAGS CHANCES OF PROMOTION BOOSTED

Stags chances of promotion have been boosted by the news that Cheltenham cannot be promoted to Division 2 as their ground is not considered good enough. Football League spokesman John Nagle confirmed to Stagsnet this morning: "Cheltenham's ground is very poor. We simply can't allow the standards in the second division to drop. In general we don't approve of football clubs sharing their facilities with the local bowling club, and we have concerns about arrangements for the toileting facilities for the horses at the Cheltenham festival."
The news would appear to pave the way for an easier ride to automatic promotion for the Stags.
