Ousted Mansfield manager Keith Curle has promised to lift the lid on the details of the unspecified allegations which led to his dismissal.

Curle was dismissed by chairman Keith Haslam last week after spending five weeks on suspension while an internal club inquiry was carried out into accusations made against him.

Carlton Palmer, who was appointed caretaker boss during Curle's absence, now looks favourite to take over on a permanent basis after the 2-0 win over Shrewsbury gave the Stags their first win in 11 games.

Curle, meanwhile, is taking advice from the League Managers' Association and is considering whether to appeal against his sacking.

He said: "As and when the time is right it'll be made clear what happened."
