RACIAL CHANTING - CLUB ASKS FOR YOUR HELP
1st December 2004 15:50

mansfieldtown.net reports that, following the game at Boston's York Street on Saturday 20th November, the Pilgrim's goalkeeper Nathan Abbey made certain allegations against a small section of the Stags supporters, claiming they were making racial taunts against him and a fellow player. The following week Abbey made similar complaints against a section of The Rochdale following week when the Pilgrims travelled to Spotland.

As both clubs take this kind of behaviour very seriously we are in the process of finding out the facts regarding these claims to put forward to the FA.

If you were at York Street when Mansfield played Boston and witnessed any racial abuse or otherwise could you please contact the club in writing with your view of the situation at:

Mansfield Town FC, Quarry Lane, Mansfield, Notts NG18 5DA.

or email: mtfc-press@btconnect.com

Mansfield Town FC run a zero tolerance policy for racial and violent behaviour and perpetrators will be banned from all Nottinghamshire football grounds under the PACT agreement as well as face the possibility of prosecution.

Your input will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
