20 May 2002 Mansfield Town Clubcall (09068 12 13 11, 60p per min) can confirm the deal of Chris Greenacre joining Bradford City is off. The deal was rumoured to be worth £8k per week. Sheff Wednesday are believed to have a shortlist of 2 strikers: Greenacre and Lloyd Owuso of Brentford. Two other clubs believed to be chasing Greenacre are Nottm Forest and Luton. Bradley Allen is being linked with a move to the Stags. The striker has been at Grimbsy for 2 years, but the cash strapped Mariners have had a clearout and Allen is available on free transfer. Allen, now in his thirties, has been injury prone over the last 2 seasons, but does average a goal every 3 games. |
