ROBINSON TO PLAY AGAINST LEICESTER RESERVES
16th August 2004 23:55

mansfieldtown.net reports that Marvin Robinson will be training again this week with the Stags and will be appearing in a friendly game tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday 17th at 1.00pm) against Leicester Reserves at Leicester which will give the Stags management duo a good opportunity to have another look at him.

"It has been awkward setting up a friendly with everything else that is going on but I feel this is the best opportunity for Marvin to give a good account of himself and we will have a good look at him to see if he is a good acquisition for this football club"

The players that didn't figure on Saturday against Chester City will be featuring in the game at Leicester, the first of many such games which is been designed as an alternative to entering a reserve team into the Reserve league with everything that comes with it.

Curle opted out of playing in the reserve league last season as he believed that in some cases it did more harm than good especially if a player was shown a red card, this could leave hime short of a player at a crucial time, this way any discipline is dealt with internally and Curle believes that more and more teams will take this route for the reserve and fringe players
