Review of Video: "Stags Super Season 2001/2002; Goals and Highlights"

Mansfield Town this week released a second video following the glorious promotion season. Following on from the video showing highlights of the Carlisle game, the second video shows goals from almost every league game during the season. The video is narrated by the knowledgable John Helm of Yorkshire TV and is a must for all Stags fans.

The video lasts 43 minutes, but it is a case of "never mind the length, feel the quality". Every goal from the league season is shown, with the exception of the 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers, and two opponents' goals (Kidderminster's goal at Field Mill and Shrewsbury 3rd goal at Gay Meadow). The FA Cup run is not shown (presumably because Yorkshire TV did not have the rights to the footage), and nor is the LDV Vans game against Blackpool, but the League Cup defeat to Notts County is shown, albeit out of sequence.

The quality of picture is as near perfect as you'll get and the video flows very nicely. If I was being pedantic, I might point to a few minor errors, such as the incorrect naming of Kidderminster's scorer at Aggborough (it was Blake, not Smith), and the mistaken identity for the cross for Stags third goal against Hartlepool (the cross was from Piper, not Williamson), but overall Helm does a tremendous job.

The video costs £13.95 from the club shop, but for exiled Stags fans it can be ordered by telephone (01623 482482) with credit card (as I did) at a cost of around £16. Believe me, you won't regret it.

Congratulations to the Stags commercial department, along with John Helm and Yorkshire TV for the excellent production.

Martin
