Manager Steve Parkin has been an extremely busy man since the end of the season. He has been in constant negotiations with agents and players during the course of the last couple of weeks, and a couple of these talks are about to come to fruition during the course of tomorrow.

The first player expected to put pen-to-paper is former Mansfield Town defender Jamie Clarke. The 22 year-old was released from Field Mill at the end of last season having made 16 appearances during the 2003/2004 campaign.

"He is a player who can play anywhere across the back four and his adaptability will serve us well during the course of what will be a long and hard season," said Parkin.

Also due to put pen-to-paper during the course of tomorrow is former Leeds United junior Chris Armstrong. The 19 year-old striker will be given a three-month contract having been released from Elland Road at the end of last season and the chance to impress his new manager during this period.

"Chris is 6'1 and has all the attributes needed to play at this level. He is a strong lad who should be able to cope with the physical demands of life in the Third Division and the three months he is with us will give us the chance to have a proper look at him," said Parkin.

Parkin confirmed that talks are ongoing with a number of more experienced players. The manager was hopeful news would be forthcoming on these matters before he flies out on his holidays at the weekend.
