Sunderland have become the latest club to be linked with a move for Mansfield Town midfielder Liam Lawrence.
The 22-year-old, who missed out on promotion back to Division Two after Monday's Third Division play-off final loss on penalties to Huddersfield Town, is out of contract this summer at Field Mill.

He has already attracted the interest of fellow First Division side Rotherham United, but Black Cats boss Mick McCarthy now looks to have become the latest suitor for the midfielder's services.

It remains to be seen if The Stags can keep hold of their top asset, with Lawrence likely to be tempted by the opportunity of playing Division One football next term.
