STAGS SETTLE HUCKNALL ROW

The Stags are hoping to lay to rest their row with local club Hucknall Town over the signing of Andy White by playing a pre-season friendly.
Striker White had turned out for the UniBond League club as a youngster before joining Town on a permanent basis the season before last. Hucknall had hoped The Stags would offer them some sort of fee for the youngster and were furious when nothing was forthcoming. Now Stags boss Stuart Watkiss has agreed to send his full first-team squad to Watnall Road in mid-July for a pre-season friendly which should give Hucknall a bumper gate. Watkiss said: "It is nice to be going there and means we can put things to bed as far as Andy (White) is concerned. "This is a game we promised them and will be our first game of the pre-season after two weeks back in training. "I will take everyone and probably give them all at least a half so we can see how they are coming on." Source: Teamtalk |
