Artell in Stags link
Teamtalk, 2 May 2002 Rotherham's out-of-favour defender David Artell is being linked with a move to Second Division newcomers Mansfield. Artell could be surplus to requirements at Millmoor after failing to make a single appearance this season. The Rotherham-born youngster was a regular in last season's promotion-winning side, playing alongside Guy Branston in central defence. But Ronnie Moore opted to bring in experienced pair Chris Swailes and Martin McIntosh to cope with the demands of First Division football. Mansfield boss Stuart Watkiss is looking to strengthen his squad after guiding The Stags to promotion and Artell is believed to be one of the names on his list of possible targets. |
