CARLISLE MANAGER REACTION

BARR DISAPPOINTED
I thought we were very poor in the first half, we had a terrible start, conceding after four minutes which was the thing that Mansfield needed and when the score came through from Plymouth at the same time it lifted the crowd and took some pressure off them.
It took us twenty minutes to even get started but Mansfield are a very good team who play good football, they have the experience in Scott Sellars and bring people into the play, but on the day we had people who weren't at the races.
After the first initial period we came into the game a bit and should have drawn level when Ian Stevens put a chance over the bar from 4 yards which summed up his performance, he looked to me that he didn't want to be out there.
Professional pride should have at least made him hungry even if it could have been his last game for us.
On a personal note looking back over the last 4 games, I've enjoyed it but the sad thing is that we just haven't got the squad other people have got, we have a lot of youth coming in and the job ahead is a very tough one.
I would like to have scored a goal as no goals in four games isn't acceptable but saying that we have had 3 very difficult games to finish the season with, so it's a good job we were safe before I took over.
