PONTIN'S RETURNS TO RESERVE TEAM FOOTBALL

Pontin's has been confirmed as the new sponsors of The Central League and The Football Combination. The holiday company, which previously sponsored The Central League between season 1989/90 and season 1999/2000, has signed a two year deal with an option for a third year, to become title sponsors of the two leagues.

The Central League and Football Combination, which were previously sponsored by Avon Insurance, administer reserve team leagues for clubs from The Football League, Football Conference and, from next season, the Premier League, following agreement by Newcastle United to field a side. The two leagues will now be called the Pontin's Holidays League and the Pontin's Holidays Combination. David Cookson, Secretary of The Central League, said: “ We are absolutely delighted to welcome Pontin's back as sponsors. The company was the first ever sponsors of the Central League and provided excellent support for a decade. We look forward to another strong partnership over the coming seasons.” And Derryck Daughtery, Secretary of the Football Combination, added: “I am delighted that Pontin's has returned to football sponsorship and agreed to expand its involvement to include The Football Combination.”
