ANDY WHITE LATEST
6th June 2003 21:39

Andy White's agent has spoken to Mansfield 103.2 this afternoon, giving the very latest on what's going on.

Mansfield Town offered a contract that Andy White has refused in writing this week and they are now waiting for the Stags response.

The agent said the amount offered and the length of contract (1 year) was not enough.

He said that there is interest from other clubs, including some from a higher level - although he said that Crewe was not one of them - but many of them do not want to pay the compensation they would have to pay Mansfield under the Bosman ruling.

He said that all the managers who have expressed an interest and Curle himself have said that Andy White's not the finished article but that, with a little work, they believe he can make it in the game.

The agent then says he feels that its time Andy moved away from Field Mill.

Also, Mansfield 103.2 understands that Danny Bacon will be talking to Curle, not this week but the week after, and then will talk to Hucknall Town, if he doesn't get the vibes he wants at Field Mill.
