Macclesfield
preview.
Mansfield
Town Supporters side, FTYBR FC welcome their Macclesfield Town counterparts
Real Silkmen IFC to Abbott Road this Saturday morning.
The
Stags side will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 3-0 defeat
away at Shrewsbury but it wont be an easy task against an experienced Silkmen
side who in the teams only previous meeting, hammered Mansfield 5-1.
This
season the Macc Lads haven’t played too many times, but come into the game
fresh from a 5-1 home win over Bury.
Manager,
Steve Hartshorn remains upbeat despite what has been a disappointing start to
the season,
“We’ve
played against some real top sides so far this term so I am not too
disheartened with the results, although we are ready for a win. Hopefully that
will come this weekend.
I
am keeping the same starting line up that started the game at Shrewsbury, that
will give those players the chance of putting the record straight and making
up for the poor show of form that gifted Shrews all three goals.”
It
is the beginning of a busy time for the side although midweek there was a bit
of disappointment when Grays crashed out of the FA Cup as Manager, Steve
Hartshorn reveals,
“I
had had an email from a Grays supporters side eager to come to Mansfield to
play us on the Saturday morning. Needless to say that wont be happening now
after their defeat to Lewes. The poor bloke at Grays sounded broken-hearted in
another email I received after the game. I think they were really looking
forward to it and it would have made a special day for both sides. I’ll have
to take a look at which teams are playing around us on that day now to see if
we can get a game with someone else. It’s a real shame.”
V Macclesfield Town (Real Silkmen IFC) IFA fixture Abbott Road 11 am kick off – All are welcome

Latest
news on the fixtures front.
This
coming Saturday, the Mansfield Town Supporters Side, FTYBR FC take on the
Supporters of Macclesfield Town in an IFA fixture.
The
Mansfield side have had a tough start to the season, playing three and losing
three although it has to be said that all three sides finished in the top four
of last season’s IFA league.
Will
the Macclesfield game be any easier? Not if last weekend is anything to go by,
the men from Moss Rose beating Bury by five goals to one.
Last
weekend, Mansfield travelled to a strong Shrewsbury Town side, who last season
finished as runners up to IFA champions, Preston North End.
Three
errors resulted in three goals for the home side, who seemed fitter and
stronger than the FTYBR FC side although with the game at 1-0, James Brunt
crashed a free kick onto the crossbar. If that had gone in it may have turned
out a different game.
Manager,
Steve Hartshorn,
“Three
silly errors cost us. They were a well organised side and I think the major
difference was the fact that it had been a good while since our last game,
whereas Shrewsbury were playing their 10th game of the season.
Hopefully we have two home games coming up, this weekend against Macclesfield
and then a local derby of sorts against Ilkeston after that we are on the road
again against a side who look like they are heading for the title, Rochdale.”
The
home fixture against Macclesfield Town will be an 11 am kick off keep a look
out for where the game will be played a little later on this week.
